Spicy Jatropha (Jatropha Integerrima ‘Peregrina’)
Spicy Jatropha is an attractive, evergreen flowering shrub from the Euphorbiaceae family, valued for its bright foliage and continuous display of colorful blooms. Native to Central America and the Caribbean, it is widely grown in tropical and subtropical regions as an ornamental plant.
This shrub typically grows between 40cm to 120cm in height and has glossy, bright green leaves that provide a beautiful contrast to its vivid red or pink flowers. The flowers are produced in clusters and bloom throughout the year in warm climates. Their mild spicy fragrance attracts butterflies, bees, and other pollinators, making the plant excellent for garden biodiversity.
Spicy Jatropha is commonly used in landscape beds, borders, hedges, and containers. While it is an attractive plant, its seeds and sap are toxic if ingested, so care should be taken around children and pets.
