Outdoor Spider Plant (Dianella tasmanica)
Also known as the Tasman Flax Lily, the Outdoor Spider Plant is a hardy and versatile perennial native to Australia. It features long, strap-like leaves in vibrant green that grow in dense clumps, creating a lush, architectural appearance. Leaves typically reach 30–50 cm in length and 1–2 cm in width, forming an attractive, low-growing mound ideal for borders, garden beds, or container planting.
In spring and summer, the plant produces delicate, star-shaped flowers in pale blue or white, followed by small, round berries in deep blue or purple. While the berries are technically edible, they are not considered particularly flavorful. The combination of evergreen foliage, attractive flowers, and colorful berries makes this plant a striking addition to outdoor landscapes.
