Lantana (Lantana Camara)

West Indian Lantana, scientifically known as Lantana camara, is a vibrant and hardy flowering shrub admired for its colorful, long-lasting blooms and easy-care nature. Native to Central and South America, this versatile plant is now widely grown across tropical and subtropical regions around the world as an ornamental garden favorite.

Lantana typically grows to a height of 30–40 cm and can spread 1–2 meters wide, forming a dense, bushy shape. Its oval-shaped, dark green leaves have a slightly rough texture and emit a mild fragrance when crushed. The small, tubular flowers are arranged in rounded clusters and appear in bright shades of pink, yellow, orange, red, and sometimes multi-colored combinations, often changing color as they mature. With year-round blooming in warm climates, Lantana provides continuous color and visual interest.
