Hibiscus, scientifically known as Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, is a vibrant flowering shrub native to tropical and subtropical regions worldwide. Belonging to the mallow family, it is celebrated for its large, showy trumpet-shaped flowers that bloom in brilliant shades of red, pink, yellow, orange, and white.

This ornamental shrub typically grows 30–40 cm tall in compact varieties, while larger cultivars can reach heights of up to 3 m. It features glossy, dark green leaves that are oval to heart-shaped, creating a lush backdrop for its striking blooms. The flowers appear from spring through autumn, with each bloom lasting one to two days, continuously replaced by new blossoms throughout the season.

Hibiscus is widely used in gardens, hedges, and container plantings, and it is also valued for its medicinal and culinary uses. The flowers and leaves are commonly brewed into herbal teas, believed to offer various health benefits.
