Green Fountain Grass (Pennisetum Setaceum)
Green Fountain Grass, also known as Tender Fountain Grass, is a graceful ornamental grass native to Africa and the Middle East. It is a perennial plant that can grow up to 1.5 m tall in natural conditions, while landscaping varieties typically reach a height of 40–60 cm. The plant features long, narrow green leaves that can grow up to 60 cm in length, forming a dense, arching clump.
Its most striking feature is the fluffy, bottlebrush-like flower spikes that appear in late summer and fall. These blooms are commonly pink or purple, though white and green varieties also exist. Held on long, arching stems, the flowers sway elegantly in the breeze, creating the signature fountain-like appearance that makes this grass so popular in gardens and landscapes.
