Flame Tree
(Delonix Regia)

The Flame Tree, also known as Delonix Regia, is a spectacular ornamental tree native to Madagascar and widely cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions. While mature trees can reach up to 12 meters, smaller varieties grow to about 2–3 meters tall. It is celebrated for its fiery red-orange flowers, which bloom in clusters during the summer. Each flower has five petals and a prominent stamen, attracting pollinators such as bees, butterflies, and birds.

The tree’s leaves are fern-like, with individual leaflets measuring 2–3 cm long, forming elegant, feathery fronds up to 50 cm in length. Flame Trees are hardy, adaptable to a variety of soils—including sandy, loamy, and clay—and thrive in full sun. Regular watering is needed, especially during dry periods, but once established, the tree is moderately drought-tolerant.
