Cardboard Palm, scientifically known as Zamia furfuracea, is a slow-growing cycad native to Mexico. Renowned for its distinctive trunk and glossy foliage, it is a popular ornamental plant for both landscaping and indoor decoration. The plant typically reaches 1–1.5 m in height and up to 1 m in width.

The Cardboard Palm has a thick, woody trunk covered in brown, papery material resembling cardboard, giving the plant its common name. Its long, dark green leaves grow in a rosette pattern from the top of the trunk and are pinnate, with multiple thick, leathery leaflets up to 60 cm long arranged along a central stem. The plant is dioecious, with separate male and female plants producing small, cone-like structures containing seeds.

Cardboard Palm is hardy and low-maintenance, thriving in well-draining soil and bright, indirect sunlight. Its architectural form and striking foliage make it an excellent choice for tropical-themed gardens, patios, and indoor spaces.
