Canna Green (Canna Indica)
Canna Green, scientifically known as Canna Indica and commonly called Indian Shot, is an exotic herbaceous perennial native to tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas. While mature plants can grow up to 2 m tall, this compact variety reaches only 30–40 cm in height, making it ideal for small gardens, borders, and containers.
The plant features large, broad green leaves that can grow up to 60 cm long, creating a lush, tropical appearance. Its vibrant flowers bloom in clusters at the top of the stems from late spring to early fall, displaying striking colors such as red, orange, yellow, and pink. The plant produces small, black seeds resembling shot pellets, which are traditionally used for their anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties.
