Texas Sage, scientifically known as Leucophyllum frutescens, is a hardy ornamental shrub native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It is admired for its dense, bushy growth habit and striking silvery-gray foliage. The plant typically grows to about 30–40 cm in height and width, making it an excellent choice for compact landscapes, borders, and low hedges. Its small, oval-shaped leaves are covered in fine hairs, giving them a soft, fuzzy texture and enhancing their silvery appearance.

During the summer months, Texas Sage produces a profusion of bell-shaped flowers in shades ranging from pale pink to deep purple. These blooms are lightly fragrant and attract pollinators such as bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Exceptionally drought-tolerant, Texas Sage thrives in hot, dry climates and requires very little maintenance once established, making it ideal for water-wise and desert-style landscaping.
