Date Palm, scientifically known as Phoenix dactylifera, is a tall and majestic palm native to the Middle East and North Africa. It is valued both for its striking feathery foliage and its edible, sweet fruit. Mature trees typically reach 2–5 m in height, with some specimens growing even taller under ideal conditions.

The tree has a single, sturdy trunk covered in rough, brown bark, topped with a crown of long, arching fronds that can reach up to 6 m in length. Female Date Palms produce the well-known dates—oval-shaped fruits that vary in color from bright yellow to deep red-brown, depending on the variety. The flesh is soft, juicy, and sweet, widely used in culinary dishes and traditional desserts.

Date Palm is a hardy and adaptable plant, tolerant of a range of soils and climates, including arid and semi-arid conditions. It thrives in full sun and requires moderate watering, especially during establishment and fruiting periods.
