Variegated Agave (Agave Americana Marginata)
Variegated Agave is a bold, architectural succulent prized for its striking rosette of thick, fleshy leaves edged with creamy yellow margins. Native to Mexico and the southwestern United States, this slow-growing plant forms a dramatic focal point in gardens, landscapes, and large containers. Its green leaves are armed with sharp spines along the edges and a pointed terminal tip, giving the plant a strong and sculptural presence.
This hardy succulent can eventually reach up to 6 feet in height and about 8 feet in width. It is extremely drought tolerant and thrives in hot, dry conditions, making it ideal for arid and low-water gardens. During summer, mature plants may produce an impressive flowering stalk that can rise up to 30 feet tall, bearing clusters of yellow-green flowers before the main rosette completes its life cycle.
