Nerium Oleander (Nerium oleander)
A classic evergreen flowering shrub admired for its lush foliage and abundant, colorful blooms.
Nerium Oleander is a popular ornamental shrub belonging to the dogbane family (Apocynaceae). Known for its long, narrow, leathery dark green leaves and showy flower clusters, this plant adds timeless beauty and vibrant color to gardens and landscapes. While mature oleander shrubs can grow into large bushes or small trees, the variety described here remains compact at approximately 50–70 cm tall, making it suitable for pots and smaller garden spaces.
Its funnel-shaped flowers appear in clusters and are available in shades of pink, red, white, yellow, and peach. Each bloom measures around 5–7 cm in diameter and releases a light, pleasant fragrance. Flowering typically occurs from summer through fall, and the blossoms attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies.
Nerium Oleander is valued for its toughness and adaptability. It performs best in full sun and well-draining soil but can tolerate partial shade and periods of drought once established. Because all parts of the plant are toxic if ingested, it should be positioned away from children and pets.
