Variegated Agave (Agave Americana Marginata)
Variegated Agave, scientifically known as Agave americana marginata, is a striking succulent native to Mexico and the southwestern United States. It is renowned for its bold, variegated leaves, which are green with creamy yellow margins. The thick, fleshy leaves have sharp spines along the edges and taper to a pointed tip, giving the plant a dramatic architectural presence.
This slow-growing plant can reach up to 1.8 m (6 ft) in height and 2.4 m (8 ft) in width. Variegated Agave is hardy, drought-tolerant, and thrives in arid conditions, making it an excellent choice for low-maintenance landscaping. In summer, it produces a tall flower stalk that can reach up to 9 m (30 ft), topped with yellow-green flowers arranged in a large, eye-catching cluster.
